5.0 out of 5 stars Reliable, capable, speedy, 29 Nov. 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: SanDisk SDCFH-004G-U46 4GB Ultra 30MB/s CompactFlash Memory Card (Personal Computers)
Sandisk cards are superb little pieces of technology. I use them exclusively, I think I have around 10 of various capacities and speeds.

These are the largest I own. They are very, very good value for money. I'm used to using the 2GB Extreme III cards and these are noticeably slower (slower being a relative term) when downloading images from the card onto my computer. However, it would be a bit stupid to mark it down for that as I knew they were going to be a bit slower. In a canon 5D they give me something like 430 shots, a canon 40D yields around 480 & a canon 7d around 280 (Full sized Raw + small fine jpegs).

I remember (eeeeh, when I were a lad!), not that long ago really when even a 1GB card like this cost hundreds of pounds. Now you can pick up a 8gb card for around fifteen sheets.

So full marks for an all around great product yet again

Hi There,
I was just reading your review and I noticed you mentioned you wait 20 minutes for file transfer - I used to waiting an age for file transfers (like 40mins for 8GB!) and I eventually figured out it was my card reader - I bought the Kingston High Speed card reader and now it takes just 8minutes - amazing! Its not so expensive either - £8 or something and it makes the world of difference! Kingston Media Reader - Card reader - 19 in 1 ( CF I, CF II, Memory Stick, MS PRO, MMC, SD, MS Duo, MS PRO Duo, miniSD, RS-MMC, MMCmobile, microSD, MMCmicro, SDHC, miniSDHC, MS Micro, microSDHC ) - Hi-Speed USB

You're right - I had changed my card reader since writing this card and bam - super fast transfers; down to about 3-4 minutes for a full card
