This review is from: Bradshaw's Handbook - A Facsimile of the Famous Guide (Old House) (Hardcover)
A really wonderful and interesting thumbnail glimpse at the Cities, Towns, Villages, Hamlets, and other notable buildings and places that lie along the paths of our railway system as it existed in 1863.
I have resisted the temptation to grasp it to my chest whilst wearing a garishly coloured jacket (Michael Portillo) but nevertheless regularly refer to it, not only in connection with intended travels but generally as it is very engaging in comparing the past with nowadays and pondering the changes, particularly in population and infrastructure that has evolved.
