A truly spiritual experience!,
This review is from: Jesus, the Son of Man (Arkana) (Paperback)
As a young child, I was heavily indoctrinated by biblical teachings and the parables of Christ. My view of Christ as a historical figure was nevertheless vague and the New Testament presented him as a very two dimensional character.
To me, Gibran's book is at once historical and spiritual. Each character describes Jesus within their own terms of reference, often which great prejudice toward Him. I read each narrative with child-like wonder and became lost in a deeply spiritual experience.
I would heartily recommend this book to anyone interested in the spirituality of man yet who feels distant from the Christ of the Bible. The prose is light and the various characters and stories are both belivable and revealing. A wonderful view of Jesus.
