5.0 out of 5 stars It does what it says it does, 12 Mar. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Garmin Swim World Wide Pool Swimming Watch (Electronics)
i gave this 5 stars because so far its been faultless - counted every length accurately and recognises my strokes correctly - about 20 sessions so far. The upload is seamless and happens whenever I'm within 10-15 feet of my pc. The website is good and the info is good. If you're technically a good swimmer - not necessarily fast - then i'd recommend it.

D BUNN says:
Hi Ian, I wonder if you can answer a question of mine. I want the watch to do some very specific things.

Firstly, I swim a test set - say 10 x 100m off a 1:45 send off, I'm finishing each 100 around 90 secs I think I need to hit pause after every 100. Would the watch let me know a) total time for each 100m or each length, or both and b) stroke count - per 100m or length?

Secondly, does it have a countdown feature? I want to swim mile repeats with a 30 min send off. Hard to do with a normal pace clock, but I want to set it up for 30 min countdown. Swim my mile in around 26 mins and not have to worry about working out the amount of rest.

Finally, how does it work with non-front crawl? Especially when you change strokes during a set, e.g. swimming a medley.

What I want to do is wear the watch whilst I train with my masters group and do the set session and then go home and download the data so that I can see what my times and stroke rate/length was whilst doing different sets (50s/100s/200s/medleys etc)

Do you think the watch can handle all this?

regards

Danny
