Absolutely fantastic! A must for Flashy fans (or those who aren't yet!),
This review is from: Flashman and the Cobra (Adventures of Thomas Flashman Book 2) (Kindle Edition)
I really enjoyed the first book by Robert Brightwell (Flashman and the Sea Wolf - see my review).
This book is better. The first book set the scene for Thomas Flashman - a man who is just as much a womaniser, a cad, a bounder and a coward as his nephew in the GMF books.
In this book Robert has obviously enjoyed enhancing his reputation! It takes in the French revolution and Wellington's amazing victories in India against overwelming odds.
Like all the Flashy books before it, enjoy Flashman's misery and horror of what is occuring about him (in other words - a light hearted recollection)and then marvel at the bravery and lives of the Empire's soldiers in the days of the raja.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book to you - whether you are already a Flashy fan or not.
Long live Flashman!

Great review Shineman! This might appeal to fans such as you Distant Annihilation: A Contemporary Great Game Thriller.

In the hope that you have ticked to option to receive comments on your reviews, I am writing to thank you for your very positive review on my second book. As a relatively new novelist it was greatly encouraging to receive such comments on my work.
I have today published my third Flashman novel on Kindle, Flashman in the Peninsular and as a more tangible mark of thanks I am contacting you to let you know that this book will be available to download free for one day only on 1st March 2014. (Kindle times the offer on US Pacific time).
This book is set mostly in Spain and Portugal for the opening part of the Peninsular War. I hope you will enjoy this book as well and obviously I would be grateful for any further positive reviews if you do! The printed version of the book will be out in about six weeks time.

Thank you so much Robert. I really appreciate it. The peninsular war is one of my favourites. I will be downloading it for sure.
Thank you once more.
