This review is from: Apple In-Ear Headphones with Remote and Mic for iPhone (Wireless Phone Accessory)
The Apple logo is usually a clear indicator of a quality product, so when I was shopping for some higher quality headphones with ambient noise reduction I chose these. Sadly these headphones are far from impressive.
Firstly I found getting them into my ears required quite some time and effort, and even then they're prone to working their way out in time. This is perhaps a problem common to other in ear headphones, but as these were my first experience of this type of headphone, I couldn't say for sure.
Secondly the sound quality is decidedly unimpressive. There is essentially no bass, and in all honesty the quality sounded much the same as standard Apple ear buds. Ambient noise cancellation was passable, but far from impressive. I also found, and having done a bit of research I know this is a common flaw with in ear headphones, that any contact with the cable produces such a high level of cable chatter (microphonics) as to necessitate sitting completely motionless when wearing them.
The final nail in the coffin came after owning them for about a week, when one the speakers suddenly died.
In the end I spent a lot more for some Bose noise cancelling headphones (Quiet Comfort 15) and the difference is night and day. My advice, either stick with the standard freebie ear buds, or spend a lot more for some quality headphones.
