This review is from: A Patchwork Planet (Paperback)
This was my first Anne Tyler, but I was soon hooked. Her characters are attractive, but they all have flaws, which makes them real. This book has the best description of what it is like to be old that I have ever read.

I too thought that the way she wrote about being old was the best I've ever read, so so sad and almost shocking, the way she just went into it. I found the last thirty pages or so a bit tedious if I'm honest and got to the point were I stopped caring about Barnaby. Maybe his apathy was finally contagious! A good read tho'.
