Pioneer RDS Tuner with Illuminated Front USB and WMA/MP3 Playback,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Pioneer RDS Tuner with Illuminated Front USB and WMA/MP3 Playback (Electronics)
Car 08 Peugeot.
Removed factory fit Clarion Radio/cd
The Pioneer is an excellent piece of kit vastly superior in sound to above.
Recently up-graded door speakers will now also upgraded the rears.
The sound from this unit is superb with multiple adjustment to required/preferred sound including 3 'loud' settings; low, medium and high also the usual equaliser choices.
Will almost certainly boom to pieces your speakers if required, plenty of power, crystal clear treble and mi-range with detail in sound not heard with the previous Clarion unit.
Menu and button choices simple to use with every which way with listening to the files on a memory stick; e.g. random play, choose a file/album, play album by album.
Switch sources quickly and easily i.e. nice big well placed button.
When you turn off the car to leave it the unit will stay playing for I guess about 10 seconds ?why? but it's no bother as it shuts down on it's own. You could turn it off manually by holding source before getting out of car.
The unit is attractive and well made. Display not at all 'Gaudy'. Arrives with ISO cable, thingys to remove player from supplied cage. The ISO cable looks like it has a fitted cable option to connect to steering wheel controls; but I don't think I will bother. Your in-car radio display (if you have one) won't work either, but the unit itself has a good clear display with display choices e.g. the clock, track, name of artiste, time left on track, equaliser display.
Unit is much lighter than cd player models (who needs one?) uses old technology USB and 3.5mm jack MP3 connectivity which should mean 100% reliability, none of that heating up as with playing cds, nor common problem associated with cds/cd players.
I don't have any problems recommending this unit; I can't think why anyone would need to pay any more to achieve 'better' seeing as how 'we' are now not paying for a cd player mechanism and laser system etc.
Hopefully the money saved by manufacturers not adding a cd player to units will be spent on other high quality components elsewhere in the unit..... Dream on?
Very Satisfied thus far.
