Boring, boring, boring,
This review is from: The Alchemist: A Fable About Following Your Dream (Paperback)
The best thing about this book? It's short. So you can in a short space of time (assuming you are dedicated enough to pursue it to the end) put it down and breathe a sigh of relief that you have now read the book that everyone has told you was so amazing. Unfortunately, it isn't that amazing. Instead it's stiff, slow and, quite frankly, irritating.
Why, oh why, did this book get rave reviews? Did the reviewers actually read it? Little shepherd goes off to find treasure and along the way meets God in a variety of forms, then manages to talk to the wind and the sun and comes home to discover that his treasure was there all along. So what? The "messages" of this book have been widely and much more enjoyably discussed in books such as "The Secret", "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari", "Think and Grow Rich" and numerous others. Read those instead!
