Ok, just finished the game. Brilliant. Awesome.
Firstly I have not had so much fun playing a game of this ilk since, well, since COD4. Different styles I know, but well, erm WOW! Graphically this game is on a whole other level, the mo-capping adding to a sense of believability missing from many games. Also it is refreshing to be involved in a realistic setting with a likeable hero who has a personality as opposed to some beefed up warrior with a lazer canon strapped do his nads.
I got a little bit addicted to this and thouroughly enjoyed the storyline and am gutted it's over. I'll try it agin on hard, to find all the treasure eventually but it was tough enough this time round (novice see).
Naughty Dog have created a great franchise title here, enhacing the PS3's power and the fact that it's exclusive pleases me no end. Some people are happy to compare this to Tomb Raider, that's just lazy. Ok there are climbing bits, and puzzle bits but come on expand your view a little will ya. Drake's is a floating barrel load of laughs. It's tough too. The enemy AI is brilliant - to the point that it cna be easy to get outnumbered if you aren't careful.
I have to say that the camera sometimes is a pain in the arse and a bit more freedom would have been appreciated as a lot of the game is on rails. Having said that, some of the levels are huge. It is a bit short, and the climatic 'end boss' is a bit of a let down, but when the production values are this good that becomes a minor issue.
When is the sequel out?
