Good Piece Of Kit...When It Works,
This review is from: Logitech Squeezebox Boom (Electronics)
I've had this almost two years now and the sound quality and most things on it are great when it's all working OK. For me though it has proven to be a major hassle getting it to work OK. Even though I have it connected network wise by a homeplug it constantly drops its signal to internet radio. Additonally, some times it won't connect at all or even switch on and it has just developed major faults rendering it almost unusable.
This isn't a cheap device and one thing to be very aware of is the warranty. You get a two year warranty and if it breaks down within that they'll send you a new one out without even wanting the old one back. If it breaks down outside of the two year warranty Logitech will have nothing to do with it as they do not offer any sort of repair or swap out service at all in Europe for the device after two years. By their own admission the only way to repair it or get it sorted out after two years is by privately finding an electrician that can repair it...no chance.
Fortunately for me it's still just under warranty, but if yours breaks down after two years be prepared to be the owner of a very expensive stylish looking brick.
