4.0 out of 5 stars Good charger, 27 Jun 2009
This review is from: Freeloader Solar Charger Classic (SC8100) Y2 (Electronics)
Power Traveller Power Monkey - Universal Charger for all Mobile, PDA & iPod

Useful device which comes with a good selection of tips, others can be suppled at 4.99. Not supplied with a mains charger but fairly quick to charge from a USB socket , Solar takes longer but will trickle charge whilst powering a device. Do not try and charge from USB while powering a device ( As per instructions) Compliments a Power Monkey which holds a greater charge

Hello. Thanks for the useful review. You say there is no mains charger supplied. Though does it accept mains charging - many people will have these from MP3 players, cameras, P.D.As, phones etc. which may have the a mini U.S.B. connection for the FreeLoader. I'm supposing it must take a mains charge from a plug with an acceptable voltage and connection. And I guess the thing might cease to function if the voltage is too high, I don't know. It's not very eco-minded or "green" to produce solar powered equipment that, for quicker charging when required, needs you to have your whole computer running to charge it. A few of those charges may cancel out the savings and greenness of the savings you've made from light.

2.50 post free from Honk Kong gives you a lightweight charger that has both 12v cigar type socket and 5.5 v USB outlets. Why have the computer on ? Weird........
