Not as bright as 20W halogens, but good enough,

I bought 4 of these bulbs from Presence UK (selling here at the time of writing this) via their eBay account. The bulbs were dispatched quickly, were well packed and the seller kept me informed throughout. They are still ridiculously expensive, but at the time this seller has the best price around by far (£8.48 each) and I at least have some comfort from the fact that the light is now only using 12W rather than 80W (next job is to replace the ~1KW of halogens in my kitchen!).
The bulbs themselves are pretty good - they are not quite as bright as 20W halogens (they look around 12W to 15W equivalent to my eyes) but they are more than good enough to light up my small en-suite (all 4 bulbs). I do not find the colour temp to be too blue, but they are definitely much whiter than halogens and CCFL bulbs - if anything it's just pointed out how yellow these bulbs are - and I think personally prefer the whiter light. They would probably do a better job in a kitchen - e.g. as under-cupboard / extractor fan spot lights and I may well buy some more for that purpose once I've had a while to get used to these and be confident they will last long enough to justify the higher cost.
When first switched on the transformer in my light fitting (the original one, designed for halogen bulbs) does buzz a bit but this dies down after the light's been on for 30 seconds or so and cannot be heard over the sound of running water, etc.
