This review is from: HTC Desire Z Sim Free Mobile Phone (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Ever since I first touched the Desire Z, I found it beautiful. The snapping keyboard, the touch buttons, the super duper responsive screen, the lot.
At first, it started as a bit of a toy; scrolling through the Android market to find all the shiny new apps to use, most of which ended up being used once before sitting humbly in my apps list.
The Messaging system is useful, the email system is next to none, and the internet browser's pretty efficient.
The keyboard is really useful. Initially, it was cumbersome and annoying, but as I got used to it, I found it excellent and easy to use. I can now type without looking at the phone, which is useful for situations such as texting under the desk in school.
The optical trackpad, soft keys and keyboard mean that you can use virtually all of the applications on the phone without having to touch the screen once, which is great when I'm out and about and getting my hands dirty.
There are, however, a few issues with the phone. When sending a text, if you're typing with the keyboard, the message reel will occasionally scroll up for no apparent reason, cutting off your typing. Another complaint is the HTC Sense homescreen, which is REALLY slow, but since another, much faster homescreen is available, this isn't too much of a worry.
On the hardware side, the cushion pads which stop the screen whacking off the body of the phone every time you close the keyboard have stained my beautiful phone yellow!
Other than that, this phone is EXCELLENT! Much better than the iPod I used to use and my friends' iPhones which I have stolen on occasion. Brilliant design, brilliant keyboard, brilliant.
