This review is from: The Magical Tarot of the Golden Dawn (Paperback)
This is a good intermediate book on the GD Tarot. It gives a general introduction to the meanings and symbolism of each card. Of particular interest to the non specialist are the sections on GD Tarot history and the GD system of colour. This is in depth as the cards are depicted in black and white outline. It is for the owner to colour their own.
Each card is then dealt with in summary under a number of headings. Followed by a short essay on the symbolism and divinatary meanings. Of particular interest are the references to Mythology, Alchemy, snd the relationship between nemerology and the system of the paths of the Tree of Life. While the more advanced teachings such as the links between the Tarot and Astronomy -The Star Maps- are included, the material is simple and the quality of the printed illustrations is disapointing. This limits the books value for the advanced student of the GD system.
