Tired of seeing your reflection?,
This review is from: Moshi iVisor Pro for Macbook 15 99MO040902 (Personal Computers)
The Apple Macbook pro, a highly desirable laptop is at the same time extremely expensive. Buyers paying the full price can choose between a matt and a gloss screen. Professionals tend to prefer the matt screen. The default option that is a great deal commoner is the gloss screen. Most buyers will tend to get a gloss, especially if they make a discount purchase from a site such as ebay.
The Macbook pro (MBP) screen is far too glossy for all its high resolution. Lots of people, especially men, who don't enjoy watching their reflections quite as much will be put off by its mirrored surface. Furthermore, this creates glare outdoors in sunny situations compromising the view. The best compromise if you do end up with a gloss screen is the Moshi iVisor.
For my MBP, it fitted one yesterday. I can confirm it was simple, no bubbles and though the effect is not the same as having a matt screen as some of the reflectivity remains, it is a compromise if you've got your MBP or similar on a discount. The iVisor will protect the screen and seems easy enough to clean. It is not some really thin film you have to apply, more like a flexible yet strong sheet.
There is no apparent impedance of colour or light transmission except during certain times (of course the brightness and other aspects will decrease slightly) and I just feel a lot happier with my laptop, not to have to see myself before I boot up. Go for it. Yes, it is fine, it works, and it really personalises an otherwise over glossy screen. I got mine from an online retailer like this for £26 including postage.
Great product, well worth the price, fitted yesterday and I'm the happier for it.
