This review is from: Vers Les Lueurs (Audio CD)
Highly recommended. The vibe (as described by the other reviewer) is different - woodwind and strummed electric guitar - and the rhythms, melodies and directions taken combine to make it a lovely listen. At times I could hear JM Serrat - and at others, the likes of Jacques Brel and even Jeff Buckley.
Although there are stand out tracks throughout the album, the last two (Le Convoi and Pars Les Lueurs) seem to encapsulate what makes this artiste so special: the first with its bolero-like build to a frenetic, Yes-style ending and the second, brooding and heartbreaking, winding down behind that enchanting voice.
I'm going to have to check out more of Monsieur A. Recommend that you do too.
