Very Pretty, Very Linnear.,
This review is from: Uncharted: Drakes Fortune - Platinum Edition (PS3) (Video Game)
Finally got around to playing this during the festive period as time is a premium in my life :(
So what do I think? Well, you can probably gage that from my title to this review. But I will expand.
Naughty Dog have really done well with renderings and such-like...the scenery, vistas etc are stunning. A great use of colour a la Crash Bandicoot.
But that's part of the problem for me...just like everybody's favourite PS1 character/title, too often this feels just like that, but with people.
Some of the set-pieces are fantastic, it has to be said, but there aren't enough of these, and it begins to feel like a slog to get to one of these, or the plentiful cut-scenes that elaborate on the adventure.
The puzzles also could have been better, not once did I struggle to crack one. The other thing is the sense that you cannot go in any other direction apart from forward...it literally feels like you are just walking down a path at times.
But I don't want to dump on this game too much...it IS playable and fun, but just very straightforward.
