This review is from: The Devil's Rejects - Special Edition [2005] [DVD] (DVD)
More of an exploitation flick than a straight horror, The Devil's Rejects takes anything that comes cheap and can draw in the punters gets written into the script and stuck up on screen: blood, cars, tits, beards, filth, nudity. Yet it steers clear of the supernatural; No Satanism or Magick here, just knives and guns.

As the notorious family of serial killers, the Fireflys, survive the movie's opening siege on their house only to hit the road and go on another killing spree. Sure they could just unload a clip into these saps on jack their stuff but they like to toy with their prey, choosing the nice psychological type of torture instead of the Hostel-style explicit nails-in-the-johnson type.

The acting is acceptable, the film's grimy feel enhanced by the actors' lack of looks.
Overuse of F bombs just for the sake of it. The `f**k you', `No, f**k you!' duels were done more than once.
There's ironic song choice that's been done to death, I doubt anyone was expecting anything original to do with the music coming from Rob Zombie. Horrible situations play out while the carefree stylings of The Allman Brothers Band ring out in the background, the perfect soundtrack to a stabbing. Yawn. At least he chose good music I'll give him that.

Zombie did a good job of making me want to see these amoral ring pieces get theirs in spite of the movie's bizarre attempts to get you on the side of the maniacal outlaws. Its key move was having all but one of the non-members of the clan being uncool, weeping lamers, and that one man has a badge and a gun.
At least it got me on somebody's side and into it, that's more than most movies even manage.
