The Red Queen,

This review is from: The Red Queen (Kindle Edition)
After completing the White Queen, my first ever Philippa Gregory book I could not wait to start on the Red Queen. I was interested to see how the author could write a story from a different character view point and life and also to see how interesting the story could be. Margaret Beaufort is an interesting character having such a strong belief that she is completely and unreservedly correct in her belief that her son is the true heir to the English throne after the Lancastrian King has been killed. There are similarities and cross over scenes with the first novel in this cousins war series but it never duplicates the narrative as we are seeing it all from a different perspective and I was not disappointed. The Red Queen is a novel that can be read without having already read the White Queen but as I mentioned in my review for the White Queen it does help having a family tree or some reference point to explain who all the characters are and how they all relate as there are so many Henry's, George's Richard's Elizabeths etc in this era.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am now looking to start on the 3rd book in the series The Lady of The Rivers, I did wonder if it would matter if I didnt read the series all in order but didnt want to take the risk, so far from the first 2 books I dont think it matters enormousy
