The idea is one just switches on the radio and you get instant music. For most of the time it does just that, however sometimes it just freezes up for no apparent when switching between bands or looking through the menus. Annoying, but nothing a factory reset can't cure so far, sometimes powering it off works too. A simple radio should never be like this. I'd normally send such an item back however I'm not exactly spoiled for choice for replacements. The only others available are in £300 bracket. I could however just have got a bad unit.
In comparison I've got an elderly (2002 vintage) Acoustic solutions SP110 DAB tuner and it's never given me a hint of bother ever in the decade I've owned it and it cost a measly £99.99 from Argos all those years ago.
The most annoying thing of all is other than it's buggy programming is that it's laggy, it tends to do everything with a short pause in between.
Anything good to say? It's a nice looking tuner with some nice features like the big text display. Most of all when it's not freezing up it sounds really quite good.
Two stars. Would have been one if not for it's redeeming features.
