This review is from: Growing into MySelf (Kindle Edition)
I read this book a couple of months ago, and have pondered the words to write here. The thing about this book is not just the pleasure of reading it; the rich, brave, funny, vulnerable and open hearted sharing of the author, Thea Euryphaessa; it's the way the book carries on reverberating in your life that touches you so much too. That's why writing my review now feels a better time to write, then straight after reading. For example i had a dream the other day, and because i've read 'Growing into Myself', i could access the meaning of the symbolism much more then i could have before reading the book understand the significance of the colour red, that the dream happened in a basement, etc.... She takes you on a soul journey... although it's her story, your soul also goes on the journey, and then keeps on journeying long after you've finished the book.
Another thing i like about the book is the way Thea communicates some really quite complicated concepts about the significance of mythology, archetypes and alchemy for your lives, in the most down to earth simple way. And frankly that's how i need it explained. I'm just not someone who's going to read the complete works of Marion Woodman, et al, but Thea has read it all, and translates that wisdom in a way that not only can I compute, but can relate differently to myself too. There's something about quite abstract and `high brow' concepts being simply explained through one woman journey! She's really gifted at this. So one woman's journey, taps so much in to universal human experience, that then totally resonates with my (and your) journey and life experiences too. Result!
... and you also get a very deep and subtle sense about what Tantra and sacred sexuality is, and how you can be liberated from so many thoughts and beliefs that keep you small by studying it. You can't get that study from this book though, just a sense of how healing, pleasurable, fulfilling and bringing about of freedom that study will be. So read this book, then find yourself a great Tantra teacher ;)
