Much more than just L'Abri,
This review is from: By Demonstration: God - Fifty Years and a Week at L'Abri (Paperback)
When I finally got around to reading this book I expected an explanation of what L'Abri was and is. My parents had benefited hugely from L'Abri and the works of Francis Schaeffer in the past so I was curious to find out more about them.
However, I found this book to not be a mere analysis of L'Abri but more of a study in how to live with Christ at the centre of our lives. Wade Bradshaw is massively honest and humble in his analysis of L'Abri, himself, the church, and culture in this post modern age. He lists examples of problems people have with the church and suggestions of how we as Christians could connect better with those in need of Christ without compromising our doctrine.
As a Christian I have found this book massively helpful in giving glory to god in every aspect of my life. We far too often leave areas of our life out as 'not being spiritual.' This book challenges us not to be apathetic and to develop a genuine self sacrificial love for our neighbors.
