It's taken me a while to finally watch this instalment of the Iron Man films and I shouldn't have bothered.
I was hoping it would be a return to the quality of the first movie after the lacklustre offering that was Iron Man 2, but no it's much worse.
I can't believe what an awful mess this film is. They've ruined a classic Marvel Supervillain in the process. What the hell were they thinking? Why even introduce The Mandarin if they were going to use him as a stooge. They could have created a new character for this purpose without making a mockery of a long standing character.
Also why do all the various Iron Man armours get broken and busted so easily? Were they made from plastic instead?
And why doesn't Tony Stark's home have any security devices to protect it from attack?
Why would Tony the 'futurist' threaten the Mandarin and give him his home address when he has no means of protecting his home?
Stupid Stupid Stupid. Arrgh! What steaming pile of manure this is.
I could go on for ages about the state of this film, but I'll cut it short by simply saying 'Please don't make anymore Iron Man films if this is all you can produce.'

I heartily agree with your sentiments. The first Iron Man film, imho, was a good film - even though, on a personal note, I loathe Hollywood putting *anything* terrorist related into films or tv shows post 911. It was a terrible tragedy, and I feel deeply for the people who lost relatives, but it wasn't anywhere near the scale of tragedy that was The Battle Of The Somme...as just one example...So, on that note, I feel constantly, heavily connecting tv and film to that event, is quite simply lazy writing. And this annoys the hell out of me tbh.
The sequels are a complete, total and utter mess. Awful, rubbish films. Personally, I feel there have been no worthy sequels within the Marvel Studios universe at all. I saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier recently, and was disappointed with that too. And I always hated the fact they gave the Avengers to Joss self-obsessed, overly self aware writing style "look at what I just wrote...wasn't it funny" Whedon. People just don't talk like that! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEDON! (Think Khan). The whole situation totally blows. I'd hate to think what a comic book movie co-written by Joss Whedon and David S Goyer would turn out like...I'm sure it's on perpetual loop in hell lol.
