This review is from: The Angel (Jacquot Book 4) (Kindle Edition)
I have read some of these books over the years - never as a "must read" but enjoyable when I come across them but I think The Angel has changed that and I will be actively looking for the ones I haven't read. This is an excellent read with a good, pleasant protagonist, an interesting plot with many twists that starts with the murder of a family of German incomers and runs through more murder, a sort of psychic, wartime betrayal and much more to keep you turning the pages, a setting you can almost feel and food you can taste. I found it to be a rich, evocative multilayered read that I couldn't put down. The burial of Sandrine, a former resistante, had me in tears.

Such a lovely review, thank you so much; and so pleased you enjoyed the book. I'll tell you secret - I wept when I wrote the funeral scene... MOB
