I got into listening to Jane Wiedlin by first listening to Belinda Carlisle, then trying out the GoGos, the band both were a part of, actually from what I read, Belinda and Jane started the band. Jane in a way has been overlooked as a successful singer/songwriter but make no mistake she had a big influence on the success of the GoGos and when she parted with the band and went solo she was very much overlooked by the music industry and critics. Her voice is very unique in style and vocal sound and I love the lyrics to her songs and how exciting and unpredictable the sounds to her music can be. If you like Jane Wiedlin already then don't hesitate get this album, it is brilliant, there are many tracks on this album that are of equal quality to her big hit song "Rush Hour" and some in my opinion even better. The great thing about her music in my opinion is her variation of sounds and great lyric work and that is why I rate this a great album. This album "Fur" is one of my most favorite albums and I liked it instantly but if you don't like it on the first listen, I urge you to give it a second listen on a different day and I'm fairly sure you will find you are becoming addicted to her unique sound just like I have. I now have three of her albums (hunting for the fourth) and I love them all, she is one of my most favorite singer/songwriter's.
