This review is from: Original Gola Redford Classic Retro 70s Messenger Shoulder Bag (Apparel)
Purchased one of these bags for my 11 year old daughter for High School in October 2011. Initially was very pleased - just the right size to fit the days school books, planner, pencil case & packed lunch and keep said items organised. Waterproof/easy to clean much more practical than previous fabric bag. However, first week back to school in January 2012 and the strap broke! Handle tore/stitching undone where the ends were stitched together - just hanging on by a thread - so not great. Would give 5 stars for size/style but only 1 star for durability so settled in the middle at 3! Awaiting refund from supplier (not Amazon).

I have had exactly the same issues, bought one in November for my 11year old, thought it was perfect for school, but the bottom corners just wore through, it has 4 holes, the stitching came apart, there's a hole in the top where it bends in when it's carried. I have only been offered a replacement not a refund. Not happy.

Had exactly the same problem with an Adidas bag, lasted a term and then the strap broke, tried to sew it back, lasted a few weeks then fell off completely. Other son's same bag has lasted longer but at these prices I am reluctant to try again. Will be trying to get a replacement from Amazon if I can find my purchase receipt.
