The Genius of London Photography,
This review is from: London. Portrait of a City (Hardcover)
Taschen's London weighs and feels like a small paving slab - that is not hyperbole but the literal truth - and is also trilingual in presentation (English French and German) but so cleverly done that it does not annoy you in any way. As other reviewers have said, the photographs are stunning and the range of insights compelling. As coffee table books go (and you need a sturdy coffee table for this one) it does not leave you bored. Some of the historical insights are truly fascinating, but having read a lot of books on both London and photography, what really pleased me was how little of the material was familiar - most was new to me. A great book and at a very good price.
