Wilde times - The best of the RAK years,
This review is from: The Collection (Audio CD)
Kim Wilde - The Collection mostly contains tracks from her first three albums released during 1981 - 1983 (Kim Wilde, Select, Catch as Catch Can), which was the period that Wilde was signed to Mickie Most's RAK Label.
This was her most commercially successful period in the UK, so there's plenty of familiar hits, such as Kids in America, Chequered Love, Water on Glass, Love Blonde, Cambodia and View From a Bridge. The bulk of the remainder of the two CDs feature album tracks and b-sides from the RAK years. Her later career is represented by a couple of tracks - a 2006 version of You Came and a new recording of You Keep Me Hanging On, a duet with Nena.
So although the collection isn't a comprehensive best-of, given the budget price it still provides a very good snapshot of her early albums and is well worth picking up.
