The Cousins' War - the Lancaster side,
This review is from: The Red Queen (Cousins War 2) (Paperback)
The Red Queen (Cousins War Trilogy 2)
If you've read the other book in this series, The White Queen, The White Queen (Cousins' War Series 1)about Elizabeth Woodville and the House of York, this second book in the series compliments it as it tells the story of Margaret Beaufort, from the House of Lancaster, and how she helped to bring about the crowning of her son Henry Tudor as King of England and started the famous Tudor dynasty.
However, I was a little disappointed in this story as it wasn't as gripping as the first book in the series. Margaret is portrayed as much less charismatic than Elizabeth Woodville and therefore I found it hard to be interested in her - possibly because this was her true character but it might also be that we know that despite the trials and tribulations experienced by Margaret and her son, it turned out well in the end!
