Birth By Sleep,
This review is from: Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep - Special Edition (PSP) (Video Game)
Birth by Sleep is rewarding for those who have played the first games because it feels basically, like a prelude to KH1 and KH2, spoiling players with nice little nods to the orignal game while, thankfully not relying on the orignal games to carry its story.
While Birth by Sleep has the same foundation, three friends who are drawn together and then torn apart (which a lot of people have argued, is too much like KH1), I disagree. Terra, Ven and Aqua are a far step from the 14 year old Sora, Kairi and Riku in KH1, they are much more grown up. The ultimate decsions they make and the reasons they fight are admirable. Each character is different, but relatable without being too over the top. One particular scene in this game, surprised me for its abruptness and honesty. It even shocked me a little, but Kingdom Hearts has been steadily growing up. Good and Evil aren't clear cut. Light doesn't always win. Darkness isn't always about power.
