Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Canon PowerShot A4000 IS Digital Camera - Blue (16.0 MP, 8x Optical Zoom) 3.0 inch LCD (Electronics)
Second stage of set-up was to insert memory card. What memory card? Not in the pack. Amazon check reveals, two weeks later, not included. Won't take pictures, is it a camera? Required to buy memory card. No more Canon products for me!

This complaint has nothing at all to do with the camera, every camera will need a memory card .

I would agree that it's a bit of a pain not to be able to use the camera right away if you don't have a spare memory card on hand. However, most cameras do not include memory cards these days - so your point about never buying Canon products again might require a mass boycott of every brand.
Also - think about it - do you really want Canon to include a 2GB or 4GB card and add £20 or £30 to the price of the camera - or would you prefer to go out and buy your own 16GB card from the many sellers on Amazon for £10.

Mrs. V. Bradley says:
Is this your first digital camera? Whatever camera you buy has to have a memory card - unless you want to pay a lot more for a camera package which includes one then please read the spec. for the camera package - this will tell you whether one is included or not. This camera is not incomplete - just your interpretation of the package.
