A good little camera,
This review is from: Ricoh GX200 with View Finder Kit (Electronics)
I've had my GX200 about three months now, and I am really enjoying using it. I can take it anywhere as it will fit easily in a coat pocket and it has some really useful features. In my view anyway. it can be set to shoot square format, which is something i like, as I find myself cropping a lot of the DSLR stuff i take to square anyway. get the electronic viewfinder by the way, don't do that daft arms length squinting ;-) Also, when you set the GX200 to black and white, you see in black and white through the viewfinder, which is nice, and can teach you a lot about tonal values etc. The other function i use a lot is the setting whereby you can take a black and white jpg and a colour raw at the same time. That way I get to see the shot in mono through the viewfinder and get a reasonable quality mono jpg while at the same time getting a better quality RAW image which I can convert to mono in Pshop or whatever. 12 mpixels, but it's not going to be as good quality as my D90 due to the smaller sensor, but with some care you can get excellent results that you could print to A3.
The other thing I like is that I feel less inhibited taking pics with the ricoh, and I find I am learning much more about what i like to photograph. My D90 tends to be used for more static stuff these days. The Ricoh is my walk around camera. Thoroughly recommended. (mine came with a spare battery which is ideal. One in the camera, one on the charger. ) enjoy.
