Yes..its offical after the ragged glory of "Up The Bracket", this second lp is a melodic garden of delights, something you would expect from the most unique English rock band this year.
The sound is mostly upbeat, folky melodies sit next to garage-rock outs and strange waltzy afterthoughts. But lyrically it all revolves around the much publicised problems of singer Peter Doherty and his friendship with lead guitarist Carl Barat. The duo take turns at the mic but sound almost indentical , as ghostly images of the past present and god blessing...the future flutter by.
Superb....forget some of the negative press(esp OMM), this is yet another great album from the Summer of Excellence.
