Au Pairs - Playing with a Different Sex + 4,
This review is from: Playing With a Different Sex (Audio CD)
The Au Pairs' first and best album, with tracks from four singles of the same time. The lyrics deal with the social ills of our time, the music is sensibly understated melodic pop (journalists at the time drew favourable comparisons with the Buzzcocks). Listening today (2009), it's surprising (and sad) how relevant the lyrics, written in 1980/1, still are. The inlay has photo's, explanatory notes and other info'. The additional tracks come from the "Inconvenience" 7" and 12", the "Kerb Crawler" 7" and the brilliant "Diet" 7".
