beautiful photo book but not a very good sewing instruction book,
This review is from: Vintage Style for Kids: 25 Patterns for Timeless Clothes & Accessories (Paperback)
Patterns: you need a printer and about 10-20 sheets of paper. Once printed, you need to stick them together to create actual patterns. I found the indicators (red circles) are quite misleading: they look as if they should be overlaid but in fact you need to use your imagination to place papers in the exact place. I have used other patterns with notches and indicators so it's easy to assemble, but not this one.
In actual fact, I started sewing the playsuit, but found that the pattern was wrong! Upside down! I had already sewn pockets on to the trousers according to the pattern, but then noticed that wouldn't work. The playsuit pattern is upside down, be warned.
Instructions: Not so easy to understand. Pretty pictures, but you need to know a lot about sewing. I have been sewing for quite a while but I found some instructions are too simple. It tells you to do things but doesn't tell you how to do.
I do like the designs (but then again, many of them look so nice because such lovely fabrics are used) and I am inspired, I'd love to make all of them in the book.
