This review is from: Sort of Revolution (Audio CD)I've always had a soft spot for Fink dating back to when he first signed up to Ninja and was producing well crafted dance music rather than acoustic stuff.
His two earlier expeditions, Biscuits for Breakfast & the second disc Distance & Time are far superior to this, his latest.
He's going a bit electric and to me missing the point a bit. His stuff really excels when it's soft, gentle and whispered... folky even. This more muscular sound drowns his voice out a bit for my liking and the results are a bit whimpy in the end.
Don't get me wrong it's not awful and certainly worth a listen but distinctly pedestrian in comparison with his two earlier LP's.
