Okay for recording singing/dialogue,

I bought these headphones for convenience when recording dialogue for cartoons. I needed to buy this item because it's so much easier to sit with headphones on and talk into a mouthpiece, rather than keep having to position a mic stand wherever you're sitting. I haven't used it for gaming, so I won't comment on that, but I'm sure it would work perfectly as I've had no problems with performance where the mic and headphones are concerned.
I wouldn't say the mic was the clearest for recording speech and, even though that's not what it is primarily designed for, I found myself wishing it was just a bit more crisp. If you don't speak carefully, you get distortion on your audio file. I've managed to learn the perfect volume to speak/sing at to get the best result. The mic does, indeed, cut out a lot of background noises. I was very impressed by that feature and it really helps when you have people walking around and muttering while you're trying to record. The mouthpiece moves up and down, but I couldn't see how to move it outwards. I would have liked to be able to swivel it in more directions.
The headphones really do cup your ears very nicely and are super comfortable due to the plush fabric used. The sound quality is good enough for my purposes. My ears are totally enclosed. There are a couple of really handy switches on the headphones themselves and, once you've workout out where they are while you're wearing the headset, you'll be very glad they're there.
As stated in the description, this headset connects using two leads...one for the headphone socket and one for the mic socket. Make sure your laptop/PC has both inputs. I have another laptop that only has a headphone socket, so the dedicated mic I use with that has a USB connection. I usually use that for recording as there is a headphone socket onboard.
The seller was very quick and efficient, so no problems at all there and, for the price of this item, it's a bargain. Some of the gripes I have may be gripes that a gamer would share, but all in all I'm happy to carry on using this item for my recordings.
