Taste is lacking..,
This review is from: 1001 Ideas for Bathrooms: The Ultimate Sourcebook (Paperback)
The title of this book might be "A few good bathroom ideas" because most are relatively poor. The most tasteful picture appears to be the front cover, which has little relation to the contents inside. Whilst the book contains a large number of photos, many of them appear to be straight out of sanitary ware catalogues - plastic baths and shower trays, nasty shower enclosures. There are relatively few pictures of tasteful bathrooms in real houses. In my view, any book which has two pages dedicated to shower towers is not going to be good. Another two pages to show you which jets you can get from a shower head....is that really necessary? Not only are the photos not very inspirational, but the text is so woolly and lacking in genuine information as to be superfluous.
If you dream of white acrylic bath tubs, gold plated taps or multi-jet spas, then this book might have something for you (although the average bathroom catalogue would probably do just as well). If you want something with taste, either modern or traditional, then I wouldn't bother with this book.
