FIRST 10 TRACKS ARE GREAT!,
This review is from: Big Hits And Nasty Cuts (Audio CD)
I had heard of Twisted Sister but was not aware of their music until I heard this CD. The first 10 tracks are excellent especially The Kids are back, I wanna rock and we're not gonna take it.....great 'stadium anthem' rock. If the CD ended there, although it would be a bit short, I would be inclined to give this a 4 or even a 5 star rating. It would be a truly excellent rock album. However, the last 5 tracks are as bad as the first 10 are good. They are live tracks. The lyrics are poor. They musicianship is nothing special and they drag on. Also if you have young children you would not want to play the last 5 tracks in their presence .......they might start to want to sing along to some of the foul mouthed lyrics (one of which is very repititive and actually quite catchy!)........Great first 10 tracks.......for me ignore the last 5........a mixed bag. There must be a better collection somewhere.....

There is! Check out 'The Best Of Twisted Sister' from Demolition Records. It's a great collection that spans all 5 of their albums. 'Big Hits And Nasty Cuts' was put together by JJ French and Mark Mendoza who decided not include anything from 'Come Out And Play' or 'Love Is For Suckers' because they weren't greatly successful albums - a sore point for those two band members. This collection also contains the live tracks you're not keen on - perhaps live recordings aint your thing - but if you listen to the studio versions on 'The Best Of' I think you will like them!
