This review is from: Katch A Bug
I bought this as a replacement for one I have had for years from Bettaware. I paid £6.97 which supposedly included "free" delivery but I see that it is now advertised at a lower price and delivery is not included. I assumed the higher price was because it had a "long reach" compared to cheaper ones I had looked at as it was described as a "Long Reach Spider and Insect Catcher" and a review said it kept bugs at "arms reach". Well the one I received was very short, much shorter than my Bettaware one and certainly couldn't be described as keeping bugs at arms reach. Luckily I hadn't yet thrown my old one away and was able to use the arm from it to attach to the new one rather than go to the trouble of sending it back, but anyone considering buying this should be aware that it is considerably shorter than expected and is also flimsier than my previous one.
Also another point, bearing in mind that people purchasing this item are generally not lovers of insects, you might want to reconsider the packaging as the horrible picture I saw of the massive spider when opening the box made me recoil and I am not that bothered by insects - someone with a real phobia could possibly have a heart attack or at least would be quite shaken and upset I'm sure. Surely it's not necessary to illustrate the packaging in this way?
I would recommend that anyone considering buying one of these should check out the Bettaware version instead as theirs is longer, sturdier and cheaper - and get someone else to open the box if you are arachnaphobic!
