ROCKY vs. THE SOLDIER OF ORANGE!,

Or you could say, it's Rambo vs. The Hitcher. Seriously, though, this is a nice little thriller, in which Stallone gives a believable performance as a tough, young NYC cop who is reluctantly brought in to tackle Wulfgar (Rutger Hauer), an international terrorist out to redeem himself after a botched bomb raid in London. Eventually, Sly and his partner Billy Dee Williams lock horns with their quarry, resulting in a deadly cat and mouse game which only one man can survive. This film predates the likes of THE TERMINATOR and DIE HARD by a good few years. Hauer is effectively cast as a ruthless, despicable killing machine who can easily elude the law, but he hasn't reckoned on the Sly one. Best bits are the subway foot chase, the tram hijack and the bloody finale which has obviously been trimmed in UK versions.
