I'm pretty disappointed. I can see this being The Dark Tower (Stephen King) all over again- a few good books petering out into a confused mess with no real resolution.
I didn't enjoy this much. When I started this I thought I'd be furious at having to wait for the next book. I was wrong. The heavy handed cliff-hangers that are shoe-horned in at the end didn't grab me at all and now I'm far more sanguine about the wait.
The good: Dolorous Edd is still funny when he's in it. There is a little progress from Reek and from Jon at the wall. Sansa is not in it.
The bad: Dorne and its boring inhabitants. Yet *another* resurrection. Tyrion floating about doing not very much. The Ironmen (who are both unlikable and boring- a real achievement). Daenarys and her massive character change. Stupid cliffhangers.
