utter waste of money and time,
This review is from: MediaDevil Apple iPhone 5/5S Back (Rear) Screen Protector: Magicscreen Dual-Tone Clear Edition - (2 x Back Protectors). Important: Read product description before ordering (Wireless Phone Accessory)
bought these because the promise of a three part protector that would preserve the looks of the back of my iPhone 5 as well as its two tone charm, as well as in theory being easier to apply sounded great. not so.
first issue, the thin protective film that covers the protector (ie the stuff you peel off so you can apply the protector itself) has a higher 'stickyness' than the protector itself. this causes two problems 1) getting the damn film off in the first place so you can apply the protector and 2) removing the second layer of film so that you can then smooth the protector down and make it stick to the phone. the first layer of film is sooooooo hard to peel off you end up putting finger prints and dust all over the protector itself in the battle to separate them and the second layer of film is so unbelievably sticky that every time you try to peel it off to reveal the freshly applied product it peels the whole thing straight back off again! rubbish!!
second issue, the fact they've clearly not measured their product carefully enough. I after much swearing managed to get the two smaller sections attached to the phone only to look down and find that despite three of the edges being aligned pretty near perfectly, the fourth edge of the protector had a good mm of gap between its edge and the edge of the phone back. thats pretty poor. also, in the case of the smaller section that goes round the camera, its generally a good idea to make sure it doesn't go across the lens itself. thats a bad thing guys. i've programmed a cutting machine and have qualifications in design and i'd be pretty embarrassed if i took money for something of this quality. it isn't hard to test a product of this nature and check its dimensions are accurate.
issue three, and i would consider this a fundamental flaw in the product, the fact that the protector once applied doesn't stay stuck very long. Had the two smaller sections on for 10 minutes now and they're both starting to peel. rubbish. in fact the one round the camera has literally just come off, i was trying to gently smooth down one of the areas that hadnt stuck properly and it suddenly stuck to my finger and came off! my gf has just said to me while examining it "err which side is supposed to be sticky??"
i think that sums it up. avoid this joke of a product like the plague. I don't expect perfection for this price, i do expect a product to do as it advertises though.

Mr. K. I. Mansley says:
Did you clean the back of the phone first? Did you read the instructions? I also have a "qualification in design" and find this product to be very simple to apply and with a good life span of at least 6 months. For 8 quid, as long as you follow the instructions - where can you go wrong? (Except with punctuation maybe?).
