Beautiful book to enlighten one regarding being present to the NOW,
This review is from: Guardians of Being (Hardcover)
Guardians of Being is a beautiful book sharing the pure beingness of the Guardians of Being: - Dogs. Whimsical, humorous and wise, this wonderful children's book will touch your heart, mind and soul. The illustrations are cartoon style, and very clever in their ability to convey the vast feeling of freedom when we tap into pure beingness of the NOW moment. The book is hard cover with a jacket, and printed on paper that is beautiful to touch with a natural look. A deep encouragement towards stillness is shared throughout the book, alongside our typical resistance to such is clearly illustrated in some of the cartoons. For example, in a cartoon story of two cats, one asks " And I'm really thinking it's all just...hopeless. What can I do?" The other cat answers "Stop thinking". How true!
Also, another great cartoon features a bee reading the To-Do list for the day...it says "Just Bee". Another features the cat and dog, talking of the now moment, until the cat finally understands and states "No future...no past...just...now. Now, Now!" Then states "Okay...now what?". Yes, this is indeed so typical of our logical "monkey mind". The amazingly profound writings of Eckhart cut through the illusory world: -
"Because dogs and cats still live in the original state of connectedness with Being, they can help us regain it. When we do so, however, that original state deepens and turns into awareness. We don't fall below thinking, we rise above it. Nature will teach you to be still, if you don't impose on it a stream of thoughts. A very deep meeting takes place when you perceive nature in that way, without naming things. When you don't cover up the world with words and labels, a sense of the miraculous returns to your life that was lost a long time ago when humanity, instead of using thought, became possessed by thought. A depth returns to your life. Things regain their newness, their freshness. Love is a deep empathy with the other's beingness. You recognise yourself, your essence, in the other. And so you can no longer inflict suffering on the other. You are not separate from the whole. This is the play of forms, the dance of life. You can sense yourself in them, the essence of who you are. You could say God. Loving the creator in the creature".
You don't have a life. You are life".
