Railway Breakdown Cranes Volume 2,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Railway Breakdown Cranes: v.2 (Hardcover)
I was lucky to obtain one of the last examples of Mr Tatlow's first book on railway cranes. I think it is out of print now. When browsing through the book I decided I wanted the second volume as well. It gives a very good, thoroughly researched and very well illustrated view on the larger railway cranes.
Being a civil engineer myself it was a pleasure to read the parts on the placing of (parts of) bridges over or in tracks. The explanation of the technical details was quite sufficient and the drawings are very good.
I recommend this book without any hesitation to all those who want to know what equipment was used by the railways to hoist heavy loads.
