Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite NP915S3G-K02UK 13-inch Touchscreen Laptop (1.4 GHz quad core processor, 4 GB DDR3 memory, 128 GB SSD, windows 8 64-bit) (Personal Computers)
I bought the touchscreen version, which differs in that it is slightly heavier than the non. Oddly perhaps, it was cheaper here on Amazon, which tells you about this unnecessary technology in a laptop - I hardly ever touch the screen, it serves little purpose.
Samsung make great laptops which last forever and look better side by side with the exorbitantly priced Macs- an experience I often have. This ATIV just looks better, operates better, does more stuff and was 500 pounds less. I remember that Samsung offer great service if it's needed- the laptops are quite easy to repair if you are unfortunate enough to get a virus or something. (At first I was not in favour of cloud backing up, but there are advantages- I use Dropbox with this laptop although it is really a precaution). I reckon that if you are on a tight budget and need a laptop for low processing activities (basically not doing video editing or masses of photos - few ppl need this - and I use a much bulkier machine for this (an old power mac, lol)) then get this laptop, back up on Dropbox keeping the laptop nice, speedy and healthy for ages- data on the hard drive generally slows any computer down of course.
If there are any quibbles I have, it's with Windows updates- one took place and it took ages (4 hours). But I firmly believe Windows 8 is just a question of getting one's head around and going through a bit of learning curve, but that it is naturally superior - change is not always easy, but tell that to the consumer!
