A million times better than the film,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Hunger Games (Hunger Games Trilogy) (Kindle Edition)
Despite seeing the trailers for this film, when it was in the cinema in the spring, the story didn't really catch my attention until about a month ago in work. Two of my female collegues were discussing the film and books and told me it was a brilliant book and I should read it.
A couple of weeks later, one of my boyfriends work colleagues offered us the dvd to watch and boy I was hooked. Not only have I brought the DVD myself, but I purchased all of the three books and am about halfway though the second. This story is fanastic and the books alot better at explaining the Hungergames and how bad the life is in District 12 and Panem. My colleague told me that you need to read this book on holiday, because once you start on the first page, you won't be able to put it down until it is finished and boy, she so right, as I have had a few very late nights this week.
I don't want to put any spoilers in my review, so I am not going to highlight much about the story itself. But I found that I couldn't hate any of the charactors, including the career tribates and the book has additional charactors and events that the film didn't. So if you haven't watched the film or read the book yet, watch the film then read the books and watch the film again. That way you won't be disappointed when watching the film for the first time and will enjoy it alot more during the second time.
If you only want to do one or the other, when head straight for the books and you won't be disappointed.
