3.0 out of 5 stars Easy reading for a rainy afternoon . . ., 16 Nov. 1999
This review is from: The Riftwar Legacy (1) - Krondor: The Betrayal (The Riftwar Saga) (Paperback)
Nothing realy different to the other Feist books - the hero's suspect a dastardly plot to take over / destroy the world, they solve the riddle, get besieged by the enemy (Who outnumber them 300+ to one of course!, win the battle with only seconds to go before the world is blown to tiny bits and then head home for tea and medals.
Now don't get me wrong - that's not a bad thing and I will carry on reading Feists books as they come out. I just compare it to Hollywood sequels - nobody expects Rambo 19 (Return to BirmingNam) to be original but we'll still sit and watch it when there's bugger all else on telly! On the plus side - it is nice to get to fill in the gaps between the Rift & Serpent War sagas. Like every other Reviewer I think that newcomers to Midkemia would be better off reading the Riftwar series before considering this chapter.
