Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Universe Collection - Deluxe Edition [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
This is about the non-Bluray version: Though two episodes from the original complete series have apparently been omitted from this set, I don't really miss them for all the rest of the excellent value for money provided here. Each disc has at least 2 to 3 hours of well-narrated documentary containing high-quality CGI and original footage, all backed up by interviews with a diversity of professionals. I've never seen Carl Sagan's Cosmos, but get the impression that it served as a benchmark for a whole generation of space enthusiasts pre-dating the Hubble telescope. The History channel, despite its occasionally odd stances and lack of pedigree in this area (one would expect the ideologically similar but technically more involved Discovery or National Geographic agencies to have turned out this massive compilation sooner) has actually succeeded in creating a new benchmark. "Only" four stars out of five because, who knows, the next series about our Universe in 2020 or 2030 might be better yet ...

Does this new boxset also contain the bonus disc "7 Wonders of the Solar System in 3D (Blu-ray 3D)" (which previously came included with the separately sold Season 5 of this series, and in the boxset with the seasons 1-5 as well) ?

No, it doesn't - at least not as far as I remember. I now have 23 discs - all regular, non-Bluray. No bonus discs.

Are there any subtitles included? (involving English subtitles) I think I might not understand some words in spoken English as I am from Czech republic.
Thank you in advance

Unfortunately not - just bare bones English soundtrack without any options menu. On the positive side, the speaker is excellent, the interviewees are quite articulate too, and the soundtrack engineering great in my opinion.

Is the series narrated by a Brit or an American? Thanks

@iain: The accent is apparently US-English, but not excessive in my opinion.
